Description:

The Riiflex 2lb dumbbells are ergonomic, gym-quality weights that securely fit your Wii controllers to provide calorie-burning resistance while you play! Molded of tough polycarbonate, with cast-iron weights and a durable soft-touch rubber overmold, these weights won't slip out of your hand and can withstand the rugged abuse of any household.

The patent-pending design is meticulously engineered for durability while providing the most ergonomic comfort available on the market. The quick-release design allows the user to securely attach the dumbbells instantly. The Riiflex product is also the first product on the market to be compatible with Wii Motion Plus. Adding dumbbells to your Wii workouts adds an important element to your fitness routine that resistance bands alone cannot deliver. Dumbbells provide consistent resistance through the range of motion, are easier to transition from one exercise to another, and can be used in a wider variety of resistance exercises because they do not require another body part to establish resistance.

Why Riiflex over the competition?

Compatibility: Most competitive products on the market today are not compatible with Wii Motion Plus, the latest motion-sensing attachment to the Wii controllers.

Durability: Competitive products are made from cheap plastic and filled with sand or concrete for weight. Because they're manufactured like toys rather than fitness equipment, these products typically crack or break with only moderate use.

Usability: The most popular designs on the market require cumbersome installation that includes feeding cables through the end of the weight and attaching extra pieces to secure the controllers.

Features:
  • Adds 2lb. of resistance to your Wii workout

  • Allows full functionality of Wiimotes

  • Compatible with Wii Motion Plus and many aftermarket Wiimotes

  • Durable, gym-quality construction

  • Try it with Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports Active, Fitness Ultimatum, Golds Gym Cardio, Your Shape, My Fitness Coach, and more!

5Amazing  Aug 29, 2010
Love it! Works better than the other weights for the Wii. A perfect and much needed accessory to the Wii Fit.

5worth every penny  Jul 19, 2010
I am using these dumbbells with the Wii AE sports active more workouts. I find the dumbbells to be more effective than the band. I am already noticing how it helps me correct my hand positions. This product does enhance your workout with the remote and nunchunck.

5Great weights!  Jun 22, 2010
These weights are GREAT! Easy to use and hold, no problems getting the controllers in and out. The best part for me is no more resistance band when I'm doing EA Sports Active! I could never get the band to the right position and it was always too easy or too hard. These are just right. Now I'm anxiously awaiting 4 pound (or even 5 pound) weights so I can work even harder!

5Breathes new life into old Wii fitness games  Jun 04, 2010
One of the biggest issues with Wii fitness games is that while you're flailing your arms around, but there's just no resistance. So you get a pretty good lower body workout (because your legs are carrying the weight of your body), but once the workout is through you really don't feel like you've gotten a very good upper body workout. As a result, games like this usually get played a few times and then go back on the shelf.

Riiflex weights are 2 pound weights that snap onto your Wii remote and nunchuk. While 2 pounds may not seem like a lot, it's the perfect amount of resistance, especially as you're playing reflex and rhythm games, which essentially are like doing reps.

They're really well built. The weights themselves are solid 2-pound weights, and yet they're pleasant to hold because the entire surface is made of rubber which is very smooth in your hands. You literally slip your Wii remote and nunchuk into the weights so that the weights and the controllers become unified-they will snap in place into the perfectly-shaped molds and remain there securely. Once they're in place, you can use your Wii remote and nunchuk as normal. But instead of swinging and flailing your arms wildly, you get a good amount of resistance-and in the process you're building up and toning the muscles in your upper and lower arms.

Obviously, this is compatible with any game that requires arm movements. Since I review a lot of Wii fitness games, I had a lot of them on the shelf collecting dust. But with these weights it was like I had a whole new set of games. It didn't do much for EA Sports Active (as most of the workouts require the nunchuk leg holder), but for games like My Fitness Coach 2 and Jillian Michaels, it turned subpar games into games worth playing.

The game was really given new life was Gold's Gym Cardio Workout. It always struck me that while the game was fun, there wasn't really too much "cardio". That all changed when I slipped on the Riiflex weights. After just one round of the punching bag, my heart is racing and I feel great. So that's another game that will no longer be collecting dust on the shelf.

The one gripe I would have is not so much a gripe about the Riiflex weights, but about the Wii controllers in general. With the nunchuk cord, it's easy to get tangled up, and of course with 2 pounds of weights in each hands the cord becomes more unwieldy, and you have to be careful to make sure you don't accidentally damage the cord. I wish Nintendo would create a wireless nunchuk that worked, or that I had a Riiflex for my other Wii remote. But this is just a minor thing.

One last benefit of these weights is that it's a great way to even the playing field when you're playing against kids or Wii newbies. If you've already mastered games like Wii Sports boxing and baseball, using Riiflex weights will make them challenging again and give you a better workout in the process.

5sleek and effective  May 26, 2010
This product has been a wonderful addition to my wii equipment. It has added the much needed intensity to the upper body portion of my ea sports active personal trainer workouts. They are durable, good quality but not cumbersome and awkward like some other brands I've tried. Highly recommend!
